SPLITO the all-new smart card game + Summer of Games Calendar!

Ah, summer... palm trees and sand. And a good board game.
Or two...
Or more...
SPLITO is a fantastic new game that has just been released to stores, and some might say it is as addictive as Hanabi.
But you are not cooperating with others. You play for your own victory.
However that will depend on what other players do.
Or don't.
Let me explain...
Each player receives 13 cards at the beginning of the game. At the end of each turn, each player chooses a card (Objective or Value) from his hand and decides to place it between themselves and the neighbour on the left or right.
At the end of the 13 rounds, each player checks the Objectives in each zone between themselves and their neighbor, and the two Common Objectives, revealed at the beginning of the game, are also attributed to the zones that have fulfilled the conditions. The score of each player is calculated by multiplying the points obtained in the zone to their left by the points in the zone to their right. Throughout the game, it is therefore necessary to balance this double alliance in order to score as well as possible on both sides and emerge as the sole winner.
It is fun, fast, and fantastically addictive.
You will cry, you will shout, you will wait for that last card...
It is the perfect game to play with a group of friends, and we highly recommend you check out the short tutorial to learn more about the game:

CATAN: An all-time classic officially available NOW on Board Game Arena!

First released in 1995, CATAN (formerly The Settlers of Catan) is an all-time classic that has been sold worldwide for years.
If you have never played it, it is worth the investment.
If you already know the game, do not miss the opportunity to try it on Board Game Arena!
You do not know anything about the game ?
In CATAN, players try to be the dominant force on the island of Catan by building settlements, cities, and roads. On each turn dice are rolled to determine what resources the island produces. Players build by spending resources (sheep, wheat, wood, brick and ore) that are depicted by these resource cards; each land type, with the exception of the unproductive desert, produces a specific resource: hills produce brick, forests produce wood, mountains produce ore, fields produce wheat, and pastures produce sheep.
A turn always consists of rolling the dice and everyone (perhaps) collecting resource cards based on the roll and position of settlements (or upgraded cities); however, if a 7 is rolled, the active player moves the robber to a new hex tile and steals a resource card from from another player who has built a structure adjacent to that tile. In addition, you may be able to play a development card, turn in resource cards for improvements, trade cards at a port, and trade resource cards with other players.
Points are accumulated by building settlements and cities, having the longest road and the largest army (from some of the development cards), and gathering certain development cards that simply award victory points. When a player has gathered 10 points (some of which may be held in secret), he announces his total and claims the win.
CATAN has won multiple awards and is one of the most popular games in recent history due to its amazing ability to appeal to experienced gamers as well as those new to the hobby.
...and you can play it right now from pretty much any device using a web browser.
You can play the game right now by going to the CATAN gamepage, here:

NARABI: Alrighty zen!

Let's go to Japan or more precisely to a Japanese garden. Narabi is a cooperative game where you will have to work as a team to put the mysterious Stones of the garden back in numerical order. Note that the Stone cards without numbers do not interrupt the order.
The funny thing is that during your game you are not allowed to verbally exchange with each other about the conditions on the back of your Stone cards' and in the advanced rules no communication is allowed at all. With the basic rules, however, it is not forbidden to say that the proposed exchange does not suit you...
Narabi is a card game where your communication will be limited. You will have to memorize the conditions as you see them in order to solve the puzzle as quickly as possible.
An original element from the original game, the card sleeves are an integral part of the game not only for the protection of the cards but also for the gameplay.
At first the game seems simple, but for sure it will warm up your neurons a bit. There is a Rubik's cube aspect to it that when you have only one side left to align, you have to shake things up to move it.
In addition to the advanced rule that forces you not to speak, you can also add this one: A card received cannot be returned to its original position in the same turn.
In each game you shuffle the cards separately before placing them back into the card protectors 2 by 2 (Stone and Condition). There is plenty of replayability. Fun, fast, efficient, Narabi is perfect to warm up the brain.

You can play the game (or discover it through the tutorial provided) by clicking here:
https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=narabi
We would like to thank the game designer, Daniel Fehr, and Lifestyle Boardgames Ltd. for their authorization to bring the game online.
The game has been developed by ufm, who did (again) an amazing job!
Alrighty zen!
That's it for this Monday,
As always, play fair and take care!
BETTA: Pet shop is open and no more in BETA!

Today’s your first day of work at Bette’s Pets, everyone’s favorite pet shop. You were expecting to learn how to stock shelves and operate the till, but Bette bought a boatload of bettas. In order to boost sales, Bette’s come up with a way to make a game out of it, and she’s going to award points based on how well you follow her instructions.
You need to arrange the bettas in 3x3 displays. Customers are most drawn to 6 particular patterns. Use your arrangement ideas (your tiles) to make these patterns pop!
Plus, customers love seeing a lot of one color in a display. The more you fill a display with your color, the better your bettas are going to sell.
Once the displays have been filled, or everyone runs out of arrangement ideas, the task is done and whoever has the most points wins!
There is, of course, a nice tutorial to quickly learn how to play the game.
Have a look at the gamepage here:
https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=betta
And here is the best part: Thanks to the Synapse Games team, the game designer Ikhwan Kwon and the wonderful work done by Moof, the developer, you're now able to play BETTA out of... beta, on Board Game Arena! Shoot some bubbles at them to celebrate this!
And that's it for today.
See you next week!
Until then, play fair and take care!
CENTURY: Spice + Golem - The spice must flow!

Century: Spice Road is the first in a series of games that explores the history of each century. This first instalment captures our senses with spice-trading as the theme. In Century: Spice Road, players are caravan leaders who travel the famed silk road to deliver spices to the far reaches of the continent for fame and glory. Each turn, players perform one of four actions:
Establish a trade route (by taking a market card)
Make a trade or harvest spices (by playing a card from your hand)
Fulfil a demand (by meeting a victory point card's requirements and claiming it)
Rest (by taking all of the cards you previously played back into your hand)
The last round is triggered once a player has claimed their fifth victory point card, and whoever has the most victory points wins.
But wait, there's more!
Century: Golem Edition is the beautiful sibling to Century: Spice Road- clever, smart, and even more beautiful!
This is one you will never want to put away!
This might sound similar to some other titles, such as "Splendor", but the feeling can be quite different. Like people's tastes. And if you have never tried either of them, now is time!

CRIME ZOOM: A Dirty Objective for a very special game...

It's not that often that we can witness some very specific game mechanics.
The way Crime Zoom can be played doesn't allow us to have it ranked. Or to have ELO.
In fact, anything related to points had to be hidden for this game, cause this game has none of them.
It's all story-driven, and the only goal for you here is to be able to answer a few questions about your investigation when you finish it.
It's also a one-time play only, as each box has its own fixed scenario.
This game requires that you have your perfect sleuth-sense activated. And as it's heavily language-dependant, you'll be able to play it with French or English cards.
As we say, it's a very specific game, and most of it is based on the excellent writing from Stéphane Anquetil (aka Sleuth Games on Twitter), a writer specialised in detective games or escape-books.
So, Crime Zoom is a series of investigation games for 1 or any number of players and plays for about 1 hour.
You can play it with a group, and we strongly encourage streamers to have a try with their communities.
In Crime Zoom, you will conduct your investigation freely. Discuss between players to choose the tracks to follow. And as soon as you think you have solved the case, go to the questionnaire. Who is guilty? What is their motive? What is the murder weapon? And some subsidiary questions, of course. Uncovering the solution will allow you to answer each of these questions. The epilogue will tell all, allowing you to understand the plot that was set in motion.
Crime Zoom: A Dirty Objective is a demo case of the Crime Zoom family (in only 38 cards). It brings you to Brooklyn in 1980.
You can play this case by clicking right below:
https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=crimezoom
Don't forget to check the very short tutorial before playing.
We would like to thank Stéphane Anquetil, the game writer, for his authorization to bring this brilliant piece of writing to Board Game Arena, as well as the publisher, Aurora, for their hard work.
All the kudos are up to Archduke who managed to make this gem playable online on your favorite platform.
The Crime Zoom games series is now a growing success, with close to 5 episodes available - and the latest, named "Window on crime" will be released at the end of June, and available in most boardgame shops or online.
That's it for today!
Have fun discovering it and see you on Wednesday!
FRUIT PICKING: Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet!

Look at you up in that tree! Picking fruit on your island at sea!
Pack it up and send it out via Market Island to build your clout!
Remember! Seeds make fruits and fruits make sets! So pick your fruit with no regrets!
In Fruit Picking the players become fruit farmers who will plant and pick fruit and trade them with Market Island. The goal is to collect a set of market cards, claiming the title from one of the 4 districts of Market Island.
In more detail, during a turn a player will take all the seeds from one space on their fruit island board and then distribute them mancala-style in clockwise direction. The last space a player puts a seed onto becomes their Pick farm for this turn. They can then choose one of two options: to either get more seeds on their Pick farm, OR to trade the same fruit as on their Pick farm with the Market Island by paying seeds and receiving a market card. If a player collects all of the cards of one of the 4 sets of market cards the game ends.
This new edition by Korea Board Games features all new artworks and solo play! There is even a tutorial to learn how to play it.
So there is no reasons to skip this amazing mancala-style game!
See for yourself, click this link:
https://boardgamearena.com/gamepanel?game=fruitpicking
We would like to thank the game designer, Jun-ichi Shinde, as well as the team from Korea Board Games for their help bringing this game to Board Game Arena!
All of the seeds of thanks must go to ufm who did a remarkable development of the game, so do not hesitate to send him some support!
That's it for today,
Don't forget that an apple a day keeps the doctor away...
See you next week for more juicy games.
Till then, take care and play well!
COPENHAGEN: Polymino your way to the grandest facades in the Danish capital!

"Nyhavn" (New Harbor) is famous for its houses with colorful gables built along the waterside. The players face the challenge of constructing new facades in a way that fits in perfectly with this picturesque harbor scenery.
The goal of the game is to be the first player to score 12 or more points, or to have the most points when the End of Game card is revealed.
Players will collect cards of different colors from the display, which they can use to purchase facade tiles of the same color in different shapes and sizes.
Players will use these tiles to construct the facade of their house little by little. Each time a floor (row) is completed they will score 1 point, and 2 points for finishing a section of the house (column). However, these points are doubled if the row or column is made entirely of windows.
When players cover up one of the coats of arms, or finish a floor with a coat of arms, they will gain a special ability which will help them reach their goal faster.
This game for 2 to 4 players is pretty simple yet engaging, lasts for 20 minutes, and the currently available Tutorial will help you learn the basics of the game!

Thanks to all, and see you next week for another exciting game!
Take care and play fair!
